The restaurant is a bit hidden and looks unassuming from the street, but just follow the sign and around the corner you'll find a peaceful garden area with various comfy seating solutions to choose from. I was the only customer on a heavily rainy evening but the atmosphere was wonderful. Nice selection of meals that are unique in Pokhara, as well as craft beers. The staff is the kindest I've met so far and will make you feel like home! More expensive than the average around but that will get you fresh and quality ingredients. This place is highly recommended.Verified Firstly the Architecture of the building stands out, with 4 floors, with the 3rd one having a large open courtyard, the family kitchen, and dining and the fourth being a small terrace to view the Shivalik Hills. There is a large garden, where 'Amma' and the rest of the family grow vegetables which supply the fresh kitchen produce. Amma is a warm and kind person ensuring you are well fed with simple but delicious home cooked meals and lively conversation. Suren is most hospitable and knowledgeable too, suggesting itineraries and arranging your trips with care personalizing the transport and arrangements suited to your needs. Abin is the young Manager who responds immediately to any service request. The rooms are spacious, the shared kitchen and hall are also really big with a surrounding balcony to bask in the sun. If that is not enough, you can go the open courtyard upstairs and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or a meal with the family anytime. This was my second visit in Kathmandu and I’ve never experienced this place like this before. Mr. Suren helped us explore beautiful places. He did things out of his way to make us comfortable. He helped us book transportation and accompanied us to beautiful places. Thanks to him, we explored Kathmandu like locals. Thoughtful gestures like morning tea will definitely make you feel at home. Loved talking to his lovely mother and his best friend kishor. The manager is also very resourceful. This is a surprisingly peaceful property that is so close to the city. Supermarkets, petrol pumps and amenities are nearby. The house in itself is beautiful and Suren and family make you feel at home from the moment you step in. It really felt like home. We were 5 adults and 2 children and found the house was spacious and absolutely comfortable. Good beds, good hospitality, hot shower, lots of freedom, good wifi and enough space including a lounge to fit our group.The only thing we didnt expect was an extra charge for the kitchen use. I am teaching locally for seven weeks and feel incredibly fortunate to have come across this gem of a place. Suren is an excellent, warm-hearted host and his home is the best of both worlds - friendly company and privacy. The house is beautiful and huge with everything that you need - hot water, wifi, full kitchen, drinking water, washing machine, adaptors, balconies, and views. If there is something that you need that they don't have all you have to do is ask Suren! One of the highlights of my stay is my nightly dinner (though all of the meals are excellent). I don't even bother eating out because the food here is delicious and lovingly prepared. Many ingredients come straight from their large garden! There are shops right around the corner and the main road for walking or taxiing to town is a five-minute walk away. Most importantly Suren wants you to enjoy his home and his country and he takes incredible care of his guests. If in Kathmandu again, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.Verified This place is great. I usually go for "entire home" on Airbnb but I'm so glad I came here. Suren is new to Airbnb but has been running his homestay for a very long time and is very experienced and is absolutely a superhost even if it's not listed.The rooms are clean and comfortable and you feel very much like you have your own private space. The home is close to where the taxis go to town for about $3 or buses for about 15c.But the best aspect is Suren and his staff who have really transformed my stay, he gave me so much local information and advised me on things I could do near to Kathmandu aswell as organising amazing trips at a lower price than you can find before you arrive. A Nepali breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available for a few dollars at the home and it has been the nicest food I've eaten during my time in Kathmandu. EXCELLENTVerified My new home away from home :) I have been to Pokhara several times before, and I have finally found a place that I can truly call home. I was introduced to Suren Dai by a friend, when we trekked to ABC. Through his travel agency, Api Saipal Travel and Adventure, Suren arranged the trek for us (including getting a really cool and professional guide for me), and also provided us with food and accommodation while we were in Pokhara. The trek was exceptionally smooth, and I appreciated not having to worry about logistics and just enjoying the trip. Our group stayed at Suren's cozy homestay and had the privilege to have Suren himself cook for us at the homestay and at Site Restaurant. The approach to food at Site Restaurant is refreshing. Not only is the food there fresh and some of it organically farmed on the site, but there is no attempt to hide the food behind an overwhelming amount of spices. One can actually taste the food here - a potato tastes like a potato and a multi-bean stew is a rainbow of each bean's taste. This earnest approach to food is reflected in Suren Dai's personal vibe and how his businesses treat customers (this applies to the staff as well). For folks planning on visiting Pokhara and trekking from Pokhara (and I'm sure other locations too), I highly recommend connecting with Suren Dai. I was told by a backpacker that I met at Lakeside, that if I wanted peace and quiet surroundings, to read and chill, I should go to Site Restaurant. And wow, was he right! You enter through a wooden door, hidden a little bit away from the street 16, which is a side street to the mainroad by the Lake. It took me around 5 minutes from the center of the lakeside road before I was there, and it’s so nice here!! The garden is super cute, the staff is super friendly and the food is yummy!
